In my work I am seeking to capture traces of the body, architecture, trees, and other natural forms. I am lead by the process and hope to lead the viewer into a brief encounter with a quiet tranquil moment and a sense of wonder. I often us light to create new shapes and surfaces from shadows and I have also been working with many inspirations from Ghana including the fullness of the pottery forms, vegetation and Architecture from the north. My work is mostly fired in a pit fire or a wood kiln and thus painted by flames with spontaneous marks and natural colors.
