Hera Gallery is proud to present the exhibition In Conversation - with Judy Spier, a solo exhibition by gallery member Uli Brahmst. The show will take place at Hera Gallery, at 10 High Street in Wakefield, RI, from March 2st to March 30th, 2019. The public is invited to attend the Opening Reception on Saturday, March 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Gallery will also be holding an artist talk on Thursday, March 28th, at 7p.m to discuss the artist’s process, materials, and ongoing artistic concepts.
In Conversation is collaboration between Hera artist member Uli Brahmst and Judy Spier using their camera-phones in the style of the Surrealist drawing game, Exquisite Corpse. The exhibition is a visual representation of their engagement in a lively creative endeavor that would make them think, observe, explore, stretch their visual vocabulary, and above all, keep something playful and spontaneous in their shared experience and daily life.
Uli Brahmst is a German born artist who has been living and working in the United States since 1996. Brahmst’s spirited portfolio encompasses painting, sculpture, fiber art, digital art as well as site-specific installation. Her work has been shown extensively in the United States and around the world in venues such as the Newport Art Museum, Bannister Gallery, Jamestown Art Center, Galleria Galou, Art Expo, The German Consulate, oodson Art Museum, Museo De Bellas Artes, Galerie Radost, and Gallerie R31. Brahmst is an elected member of the Art League of Rhode Island and an associate member of Hera Gallery.
Judy Spier is a video Producer/Director/Designer with an extensive fine arts background. Judy Spier has built a successful career in video production, corporate communications and the theatrical arts. She has created works in a wide range of media including: video, film, print, projections and video wall design. Video that she has produced and directed have been featured at the following: The Lincoln Center Salute to the Berkshire Theatre Festival, Stars of a Summer Night, the Museum of the City of New York’s Star Awards, tributes to legendary choreographer-directors, Bob Fosse and Michael Bennett, Time Magazine’s 75th Anniversary Gala at Radio City Music Hall and Broadway Acts for Women.
