JENNIFER MADRIAGA
For this project I made six paintings about the earth and it’s habitat- four small paintings and two large paintings using various amounts of color. The paintings focus on wildlife and nature. I plan on placing my paintings on a wall to create a three dimensional effect that pops out to the audience. I will show the environment along with the animals to produce a calm and serene feeling. The tools for this project are acrylic paints, paint brushes, blank canvases, a jar, paper, and a rag.
Vacationing and traveling inspire me to make these paintings. I did not have any trouble creating these pieces. The message of the paintings is to take advantage of life and seek the beauty of the world.
To me painting is a form of expression that shows the painter’s emotions. Each color has a significance that painters express through paintings rather than words. Painting helps people reduce stress and may develop happy moments. My paintings are fictional. Perhaps in the future, I will focus on paintings that have more detail. This project taught me to advance my painting skills and to paint realistic images that I can share with others.
I was born in Providence, RI in 1993. I lived in Cranston, RI all my life. I am a college student at the University of Rhode Island. I major in Fine Arts. I’m studying Art History from the Renaissance Era, Greek history, Asian history, and some of Europe’s famous art paintings and sculptures. I am making art with cameras and computers. I also draw sketches and paint. I did not come across any major obstacles in my life.
The theme of my artworks is earth and nature. Nature is the phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth, as opposed to humans or human creations. My goal is to make my artwork look as realistic as it can be. My paintings convey feelings of love, happiness, excitement, and fear. The first thing people notice about my art is color, use of light, depth, and motion. The daylight can bring happiness to the viewers. The dark skies make the audience frightened. I have numerous amounts of paintings which can produce multiple emotions at the same time making the audience feel complex.
Art has a big role in my career. i hope to progress and find new ways to make art. Starting with environment life to the human body ending with plot stories. My artist influences are Winslow Homer and Camille Pissaro. Both artists have made beautiful artworks and I learned to use some of their detail on some of my paintings.
