Hera Gallery is proud to present The Other Side.  Seven exhibiting Gallery Members have each chosen a local artist to collaboratively pair with in an artistic exploration of different topics. The exhibition will take place at Hera Gallery, 10 High Street in Wakefield, RI, from June 16th through July 21st, 2018. The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Saturday, June 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Gallery will also hold an artist talk on Thursday, June 28th, at 7p.m.

Genuine curiosity, an open mind, and a true interest in THE OTHER SIDE are the motivating forces behind this exhibition. Each participating Hera artist has been asked to invite another artist of his/her choice who works out of a different context/experience/ paradigm or in different artistic modality. The artist pair will choose a topic of mutual interest and explore it from their respective vantage points. This may lead either to separate works exhibited side by side or to a collaborative piece. The objective of the exhibition is to reach out to other artists and have an intimate creative dialogue that addresses topics that will be experienced differently by each partner.

The resulting creative process is hoped to broaden the horizon of both artists and that of the viewership. Each pair is asked to provide a brief statement about their work and the collaborative process that will be featured in the exhibition alongside their artwork.
